18-Year-Old Plainfield Man Arrested After Attempting To Sexually Assault Hiker At Bridgewater Park

BRIDGEWATER, NJ – 18-year-old Elvin Martinez was taken into custody after dragging a Warren woman off a trail at a park in Bridgewater and attempting to sexually assault her.

On 16th of August, a 44-year-old Warren woman was walking along a trail at Washington Valley Park around 7:40 p.m. when Martinez pulled her off and attempted to rape her. He had his face and head covered with a T-shirt. She escaped after biting him. She got help from another hiker as he called 911 for assistance.

The cops utilized K-9s to search the area and find Martinez. He was found after some time and was taken into custody.

The cops charged Martinez for:

  • Third-degree criminal sexual contact
  • Third-degree criminal restraint
  • Fourth-degree criminal coercion
  • Disorderly person offense
