Drunk Driver Causes Fatal Head-On Crash On I-80
According to the New Jersey state police, an individual who was drunk behind the wheel and driving the wrong way on an interstate highway hit another vehicle due to which a New York City man died. The accident happened early Saturday morning at about 1:20 a.m. on Interstate 80 in Saddle Brook.
Investigators told that a 32-year-old Paterson resident, Mario Funes, was driving a pickup truck that was going westbound in an eastbound lane when he hit another motor vehicle being driven by 64-year-old Luis Feliz. Feliz’s motor vehicle overturned after the collision and he died at the accident spot.
Funes sustained non-life threatening injuries in the accident and was charged with DWI. It is not yet confirmed whether he has hired a lawyer for the case or not.
