New Jersey Man Faces Felony Charges After Driving Drunk With Daughter

NORTH HILLS – 44-year-old Carlos Araujo-Gomez, a New Jersey man, is facing felony charges on Long Island after police said that he drove under the influence of alcohol with his daughter in his motor vehicle.

Just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, he was taken into custody in North Hills in Nassau County.

He was seen swerving on the westbound Long Island Expressway, according to the authorities.

His 8-year-old daughter was in the motor vehicle at the time when he was driving drunk. The child was released to a family member at the scene.

Police charged Araujo-Gomez with DWI, felony DWI (Leandra’s Law), endangering the welfare of a child and two traffic violations.
