New Jersey Woman Charged With Drunk Driving After Billy Joel Concert

Date: October 14, 2015

42-year-old Alison Cantor, resident of Short Hills, was charged with drunk driving and leaving the scene of a crime scene after she was returning from a Billy Joel concert.

The incident took place over the weekend when she rear-ended her 2015 Mercedes Benz sedan and high-tailed out of Manhattan. According to police reports, she might just be in a ‘Get Out Of New York As Fast As Humanly Possible State Of Mind’.

She rear ended a 2002 Mercedes Benz station wagon, which was being driven by a 54-year-old man on Varick Street. The incident took place around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Although she was instructed by the cops to pull over, she continued into the Holland Tunnel and drove toward Jersey, before she was finally stopped in Jersey City at 14th Street and Manila Avenue.

Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from her vehicle. Upon interrogation, Cantor stated that she had just left a Billy Joel concert in Manhattan and had a few drinks.

She was issued a field sobriety test which she failed. A breathalyzer test showed her BAC level at 0.12%, higher than the legal limit.

Cantor was charged with a DWI, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
