Teacher At Hudson County Prep Charged With Sex Crimes On 3 Students

According to the authorities, 31-year-old Francisco Pereira, who was a teacher at Hudson County Prep has been charged with sexually harassing 3 female students at the Montgomery Street high school.

The teacher was taken into custody last week on the multiple charges in which criminal sexual contact and endangerment was also included.

On 16th of February, he harassed a 19-year-old girl and when the investigators started their work of knowing about the case; it was revealed that 2 other 17-year-old students were also harassed by him.

What exactly Pereira did with the students was not made public.

His charges included:

  • Three counts of criminal sexual contact
  • Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child
  • Two counts of harassment
  • One count of luring

On 8th of February, alleged inappropriate behavior” to the school district was reported by the students; according to Hudson County Schools of Technology Superintendent Frank Gargiulo.

On 13th of February, Pereira’s role as a teacher was dismissed and he was given an office position until the investigation completion of the complaint. It was said by the school officials that the teacher from the classroom was delayed due to the reason that there was a snow day on 9th of February and a delayed opening on 10th of February.

When the case was reported to the Sheriff’s Office, the school was contacted and it was said that the case is under investigation.

Gargiulo added, “County Prep High School and Hudson County Schools of Technology place the highest level of importance on student safety”.

On the day, he was taken into custody; he was suspended from the school. On Saturday, he appeared in court and the judge ordered him to avoid contacting the school and the students he harassed.

He is summoned to court on the 27th of April.
